ring resizing
Whether your ring is too large or too small, Peter & Co. Jewelers can help by carefully adjusting your ring so it fits snugly on your finger.
Sizing Down a Ring
If you have inherited a family ring that is too large for your hand, or maybe an existing ring just doesn’t fit like it used to, Peter & Co. Jewelers can resize the band. We’ll remove a small piece from the bottom of the band, then form the ring back together using either a torch solder or laser welder, depending on the ring’s style. You’ll be unable to tell that the ring was ever cut, and we’ll clean and refinish and inspect the ring before returning it to you.
Sizing Up a Ring
Occasionally for plain bands, If you just need a slight adjustment to your ring, we can stretch out the metal band to increase your band by a half size. For other rings, including those with gemstones, we may need to cut the bottom of your ring’s band and add an extra piece of matching metal. We’ll then solder the band and metal insert back together, forming a continuous piece.
Peter & Co. Jewelers has invested in a laser welder to resize rings with delicate gemstones that could be damaged by a traditional torch solder. This advanced equipment allows us to do more intricate repair work on heirloom and antique pieces.
